It’s fair to say that the real ale scene is burgeoning throughout the UK at the moment with cask ale currently outperforming the total beer market by almost 7% last year according to The Cask Report 2012-13. The Gravity Station will be throwing open its doors in late February 2014 hoping to add to what is already a thriving scene in Cardiff whilst also offering a unique twist on both the traditional bottle shop and bar set up.
Situated within the bustling new city centre development on Barrack Lane, The Gravity Station will be offering a veritable array of bottled beers from some of the hundreds of breweries currently operating within the UK as well as interesting offerings from breweries situated in other far-reaching global locations. With a promise to always have something a little different to hand the more discerning and inquisitive ale drinker is sure to find something a little diverse to whet their appetites within The Gravity Station’s bottle selection!
For those folk only now discovering the delights of real ale there will be the opportunity to partake in one of the aspects that makes The Gravity Station a little different to the average bottle shop… Available on tap will be a varied selection of cask ales which will be gravity fed and served straight from the tap into tasting trays allowing those unsure as to which style of ale is for them to sample and discuss the different types available. For those who know what they like and would prefer to take the weight off and relax for a short while there will, of course, be delectable ales served by the pint too! The option of taking a little piece of The Gravity Station home will also be available with a slightly exclusive method of leaving with a few pints of your favourite tipple drawn straight from the tap to take home… Want to know more? Just pop in and find out!
The Gravity Station is the brain child of The Waen Brewery based in Llanidloes with brewer Sue Hayward clearly excited by what the impending new venture will offer Wales’ capital. “We are really looking forward to having a permanent presence in Cardiff, a city which is fast becoming a craft beer destination in its own right” she proffers. “With The Gravity Station we want to create something a little bit different, a place for locals and visitors alike, a place to experiment with new tastes, try new beers and see what all the fuss is about!”
